Writings: MY GARDEN DISTRICT: FRIEND

“In recent years I have become a proponent of supporting local food, local music, and local shops—with great style, comes great responsibility. Friend, the contemporary menswear store on Magazine Street, is my go-to location for threads to match my conservative and leisure personas. The Houma-native owner, Parker Hutchinson, moved to New Orleans after working as an attorney in New York City. He has created a store that appeals to the young professional creative and carries brands like Saturday Surf NYC, Vanishing Elephant, and Burkman Brothers. The space is warm and welcoming without pretense with concrete floors, dull white walls, and custom recycled wood wall fixtures from local furniture designer Matthew Holdren. Whether you’re looking for a classic Oxford button-down or funky pants with an African batik pattern, this local shop is going to feel like an old Friend.”

OCH Market Flyer

Oretha C. Haley Blvd. is a vibrant neighborhood in New Orleans, that is quickly becoming a cultural and creative hub.

I updated the branding and created the postcard for the OCH Art Market. The design included custom illustrations.

Design: 4th Annual Peace is Power Parade

American Friends Service Committee and Peace by Piece hosted the 4th Annual Peace is Power Parade commemorating the International Day of Peace in September. The annual event is our pledge to keep New Orleans safe for our youth.

I designed the logo, banners and flyer for the event.
