support system
There are the friends that don’t get why you spend so much time on that “hobby.”
There are friends that love that you’re trying to escape the nine to five and will tell you every idea is great.
There are friends that will come to your events.
And friends that will buy your products or recommend your services.
But occasionally you meet someone that is invested in you enough to encourage you when you feel down and still challenge you to make your best work. They help out in any way they can, even when it’s inconvenient for them.
This is the friend we should all aim to become.

You’ve created your big picture vision and mapped out the best way to get where you want to go. Then we established that fear can be used like a compass to point us in the direction of our true desires.
The only thing left to do, is to put in the work.
Dreams without actions are dead.
So now that you have a plan, its up to you to take baby steps in the right direction.
And that’s where things get tricky.
Just because you know where you want to go doesn’t mean that life just stops. In fact, once you make a decision, that’s usually when the obstacles start showing up.
All of a sudden you notice that you need to clean the house and don’t have time to work on your novel.
You blow a tire and realize you can’t afford that new microphone you need to start your podcast.
Or your boyfriend gets sick and needs you to make your homemade chicken noodle soup, which means now you won’t be able to make it to the gym.
It’s as if the universe is testing you to see how bad you really want to achieve that goal.
Making true progress on any goal is learning to conquer that obstacle.
The good news, once you’ve climbed that mountain you reach a new level of growth.
The bad news, there are always more obstacles.
Good thing you know that the obstacle is the only way.
New Create and Conquer Facebook Group
It’s the ideas that stick with you that are the ones that you should pursue. I’ve always known that, but like most, I don’t always listen to my gut.
While traveling to Dublin and London, I realized a few things about myself:
- I really effing love traveling and I want it to be a bigger part of my life.
- My true passion has and probably always will be publishing.
- My biggest goal for the past few years has been helping creative entrepreneurs find the courage to build and grow their businesses.
Something clicked.
Almost instantly I knew that I wanted to build a community for creative entrepreneurs grounded with a monthly publication and podcast. But first, I wanted to make sure that there was a demand.
To test the concept, I recently launched a private Facebook group. My goal with the Create and Conquer Facebook group is to build a meaningful space for creative entrepreneurs across the United States to connect and grow their small businesses. If you’re in that number, I’d love for you to join.
Whether you’re a writer, artist, designer, stylist, blogger, furniture maker, florist, or anyone that considers their business to be creative, this is your place. Connect, engage, and learn from people just like you.
PS. We’ve already hit 100 members in the first week!
